This, nothing to be freaking out about. She only said she doesn't understand why women freak out over objectification. She didn't say it was wrong to freak out over it. There's a huge difference. I don't understand what it's like to be a woman, but I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it.

I do think she raises an interesting point about male objectification. It's thought of a lot differently in our society.

How was that wrong/bad/offensive, etc. I thought she's just implying on the fact that sometimes people whom someone labels as "objectivated", they willingly choose to act appropriately, and, yup, being perseived as sexual beings (with no offence, just human nature). There are situations when people love being sexy and love when others appreciate that. It doesn't necessarily mean being victimized and discrimination.

Why are people playing the "let her have her opinion" card? She has her opinion and people are responding. You don't get to be a public figure and not expect your opinions to go public and be ignored.

In any case, of course she doesn't understand why being objective is offensive. She's in the entertainment industry so she benefits from it and her livelihood is based on it. Her whole perspective is based on that and getting treated well by men because of her looks. She probably feels powerful when men give her sexual attention and is upset about the day when that ends. Her whole worth is reduced to her looks.

I also don't get why people are playing the Colombian card when tons of women here in the US are the same way. Many women here have no problem with being objectified. They gain from it and feel "powerful" from it. The only exception are the more intelligent women who see the bigger picture and realize it's not a positive thing in the long run. My friend is a civil engineer and everyone used to think her good looks were an asset, but it's a curse because it's a male dominated industry and she's reduced to her sex appeal instead of her work. She'll never be taken seriously by most of her peers.

That's not even a good analogy nor does it show hypocrisy.

A better analogy would be a gay celebrity saying that "I've never understood why gays are offended when straights are anti-gay. I just don't believe in that drama." That gay celeb would inevitably be criticized.
