As of last year , 2010, gaga was the bigger star due to the Rated R era.
Rihanna HOWEVER, is picking up where she left off and is bigger than ever and Loud is destined to be a huge world seller supported by a huge world tour.
Gaga is bigger in some departments, rihanna is bigger in others. But we really wont see where Gaga will be until her album era is over.
Not to mention Rihanna has the 200 Million movie thats going to send her star rising even more.

I can see AT LEAST 3 MOMENTS WHERE RIHANNA HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD (WITH NO EXCEPTIONS):
1. Umbrella time
2. Chris Brown beat
3. Love The Way You Lie time
There are 3 times where at least once she's been all over the world.
Gaga has had some of them too:
1. Meat Dress
2. Bad Romance Video
3. Telephone Video
THEY ARE BOTH EQUALLY KNOWN....

I don't think the thread is pointless. I think it's more valid than it ever will be. I'm still on the fence. I need to hear more from both sides before I can make my choice.

The most famous woman in the world in pop culture in comparison to a semi-famous mediocore star known really only in English speaking countries.
The Mongols in Mongolia know nothing of Rihanna but stan hard for Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber. I know, I have been there.

ok i thought about a moment and the question is whether Gaga can keep up the hype. Rihanna obviously can. If so, it is Gaga, her style is eaten up by the media.... and yes even grannies know her i guess
