No, but it's a different time period. Teen pop was undeniably huge, and pop stars had no troubling selling records. Look at the pop stars today.

The BSB and NSYNC received just as much if not more hate than Bieber. They were constantly called gay and only acceptable for young girls to listen to. I think today's pop stars are just super ****** in comparison to the past and don't give fans reason to buy albums. Katy, Rihanna, Kesha, current Nicki, etc are all producer puppets and thats why they can't sell for ****.

Well, yeah. They had their fair share of hate, but the strong sales were there. They had no issues debuting with 1M first week sales. They, along with Britney, were the only ones doing it.
