I believe they should teach science, but only if you NEED it for your future career. Math also should be an optional subject as some careers don't require one ounce of math. I also think that BASIC math skills should be taught so when you are older you aren't struggling with your finances. I don't think graphing parabolas or factoring polynomials, or finding out whether an angle is adjacent or not would be useful in the real world (unless you are going into a career with maths)
Most people probably don't know what they want to do in high school. That's why it's important to teach things like that.
I didn't realize subatomic physics encompassed the entire realm of the sciences.
If it were up to some of these girls (most of whom are probably still in high school, bitter about the homework they have due tomorrow that should be doing instead of posting here about how they expected Britney to perform earlier today), school would just be 6 hours of watching youtube videos.
but the basis of school isnt so that you can become an expert in these areas, its to build a base for logic, deductive reasoning, analyzing an assessments of things in general.
if you choose to become an expert in these areas, then thats what college is for.
Yeah, they should, but not the way they currently teach it. I took the Practice ACT today, and it was so horrible Everyone I talked to about it said they just guessed.

Maybe some know how their lives will turn out, and that's sad, but just because they have no will to do something with their lives, doesn't mean we should stop teaching certain subjects because of lazy ****s with horrible parents that don't push them harder.
Yes. Because science expands in different areas and those things you mentioned has their own category. If a student likes it then, he'll take the course that pertains to it.
They should still teach it though, just to give students some background.

It depends though. Like for instance if you want to be a doctor a lot of those sciences are definitely needed. But if you want to become an accountant math would be your route. I wish they did have some kind of freshman course where it helped you find where you want to be.
