It introduced pathos in the form of Bruce and Alfred's relationship, which the other two games didn't go into any depth with. It's gameplay is tight, focused, and fun. The bossfights are varied and imaginative. The graphics are on point, especially the gorgeous CG cutscenes. The Christmas-themed soundtrack is incredibly evocative - Joker's Theme (Carol of the Bells) sends chills up my spine every time I hear it.
It's a fun, well-developed game that sheds some new light on the Arkham series and the character dynamics. It's not perfect, but it doesn't deserve to be dragged to the extent that it has.
