yup, i think it's for the best.
for some reason, i see a very big difference between US girlband and UK/Europe Girlband
US : PCD, DK, Girlicious , Cherish, etc.., they are ****tier than UK/Europe : Sugababes, Girl Aloud, All Saints, The Saturdays, Atomic Kitten, etc..
maybe, that's why UK's Girlbands don't wanna go to US.

i'm also glad they dont come to the us...WHILE i WANT them to, i'm sure they would have to change their "sound" to fit the US. Their style seems to fit UK, US is to urban/R&B influenced and that not Girls aloud, Most girl groups in US do a lot of dancing, and while the girls can dance, they dont dance that great. So im kinda ok with them staying on the UK

They know they can quite happily put out one album and three singles a year at a leaisurely pace in the UK, do a stadium tour and then take four months off. They then use their Network South East railcards, take a trip to Kent, record the next album with Xenomania and start again.
No flights to take, no need for big budget videos, ready made home grown market. The perfect parochial pop stars.

I agree, they are lazy. In the first post is says they don't want to go through the hassle of starting from scratch in the US.

The International lifestyle isn't meant for everyone. If they're not passionate about doing it then I think they should stay right where they are.

They're album isn't very marketable for the US. I can see why they wouldn't even bother. Just because your music caters to one country doesn't mean it'll cater to the other. They'd have to work EXTRA hard for those album sales.

They should try. If they don't they will look like failures. They should at least try.

i was terribly shocked when i first read it but after reading between the lines, i guess they should just stick to the UK and remain unknown in the US because i hav this feeling the US record label will change their music direction and image and soon their song will be just like any other ****ty girlband which have the title like "feat Timbaland, feat T-Pain, feat Lil' Wayne, feat Flo Rida, etc". They're amazing on their own. They don't need hiphop to ruin what they have achieved so far - 19th Top 10 hits.
But i'm really glad recod labels in the US are taking notice of them. And don't tell me it's Hollywood Records coz if it is, the girls made a right choice. And this gotta to be the reason why the girls refused the offer :
Girls Aloud are reportedly taking a two-month break after the success of their number one album Out Of Control.
The group are preparing to have an extended holiday when promotional work for their new single 'The Loving Kind' is completed.
Band member Nicola Roberts has revealed that she will use the opportunity to work on her make-up range.
"I’m going to go and have lessons with a chemist, go to a beauty school," she told the Daily Star.
"I don’t just want to be one of those people who just adds a name to a product."
The band will embark on a UK tour in May 2009 before supporting Coldplay at Wembley Stadium in September.

Isn't the US starting to get in to this kind of music. Pop seems to be seeing a comback in the US. When hearing Lady Gaga I would think no way she was top 3 in the Hot 100 right now. The US has seen a lot more pop numbers ones this year. There sound is new and fresh to the US.

Like i said, after achieving 19 massive hits for the past 6 years and sold-out tours, i personally think it's time for the girls to unwind and relax a bit, thus the 2 mths break. You don't want Cheryl to look like a walking skeleton, don't you? X Factor already drained much of her energy. They have the OOC tour nxt year plus supporting Coldplay. Well, they're a force to be reckon with. Maybe if some kind radio DJs read this particular article about the gurls not keen on breakin into US and gave a shot at playing their music on US station, wow...that wld be great and who knows, the gurls might change their mind.

Exactly. Especially after those TLK performances, the GMTV one? People will rip them to shreds here about their vocals (Kim, Nicola and Cheryl, maybe Sarah); they have some kinda weak voices. The US doesnt have that draw to them from X-Factor and Popstars. To us they'd be substandard vocals minus Nadine, the only actual singer in the group.

I can't see an band with the name "Girls Aloud" being big in the USA. I don't have an interest in them or their music, but I honestly think Americans would not pay attention to that.

They won't, no one gives a damn about non-singers. Sugababes would fare much better.
