I believe this week doesn't includes streaming since it's the last week that counts for the 2016 Year end chart.

And a song that is charting higher in 14.5 countries versus 2.5 is the bigger global hit, sorry.
No, I'm implying he does a terrible job at compiling the Singles Chart. It's always been that way though.
In 2004, he ranked "This Love" as the #1 hit of 2004, and "Yeah!" as the #2 hit of 2004 despite the chart peaks looking like this
Country | Yeah! | This Love | Australia | #1 | #8 | Austria | #1 | #3 | Belgium Flanders | #2 | #21 | Belgium Wallonia | #1 | #7 | Canada | #1 | #2 | Denmark | #1 | N/A | Finland | #1 | N/A | France | #1 | #6 | Germany | #1 | #5 | Ireland | #1 | #6 | Italy | #3 | #3 | Netherlands | #1 | #3 | New Zealand | #1 | #4 | Norway | #1 | #3 | Russia | #1 | ?? | Spain | #13 | N/A | Sweden | #4 | #26 | Switzerland | #1 | #4 | UK | #1 | #3 | US | #1 | #5 |
Green = song peaked higher in country.
I don't see why anyone would take the Singles Chart seriously
|
As I said, he must have a formula to compile what he posts every week on his site.
If you do not agree, then try creating your own chart and compile it basing on a formula you come up with.
And seeing 2004 lists on Mediatraffic, it seems like This Love had a better run than Yeah!
Peaks are not everything, my dear.

And clearly his formula is **** if a song can be higher on the charts in every single country in the world with a chart and still be lower on his
I don't need to make my own chart to know that

Are we even talking about which one is a bigger global hit? Why are you always trying to prove your point that x is bigger than Bruno when no one is mentioning x.
24K magic is still holding up pretty good in all the big countries which it's what all that matters.

Can you post these countries it did better in
Yeah! charted better, sold more, has more streams, and came from a bigger selling album. Your definition of a bigger hit is strange

No, sweetie. I haven't said This Love was bigger than Yeah.
It had more longevity, it lasted more. That is the sole reason why it got the top spot on that chart back in 2004. As I said, chart peaks are not everything.
A song can be #3 and last way more on a chart than a song that peaks atop.

I don't have anything against Mediatraffic, it's just the Singles Chart makes no sense. It's not a personal attack on them or you. The formula does a bad job at determining bigger global hits.
Their album chart is/was fine. It's based on pure sales estimates, and for the most part they did a good job at estimating pure album sales.

The singles chart never was anything official, but the way he didn't even try this week.

Mediatraffic uses sales much more than streaming. You should know that by now (CSTF topping the chart instead of One Dance, TIWYCF being bigger than Work etc)
Funny how you need to discredit the chart now when everybody knows this site is not reliable at all. Stay petty and dedicated tho

Their singles chart has never made sense... I've always cringed at people using those random "points" as a receipt.

I was referring to Mediatraffic. The song charted for 40 weeks while Yeah! charted for less than 34 weeks.

Considering I'm saying the Mediatraffic chart is flawed to begin with what would be the point of bringing up how it did better on the Mediatraffic chart
It's weekly chart and yearly chart are both flawed lol

Looking at this, it's weird that This Love charted higher in their year-end chart considering that Yeah was higher in all the year end charts of the countries you posted

Yeah they're adding streams next week:
Quote:
10 years ago Keane's 'Under The Iron Sea' placed at no.40 with 1,618,000 sales. In 2016 the album would have been at no.8, Hikaru Utada's 'Fantôme' rounds out last year's Top 40 list with only 663,000 sales, a new alltime low. This is the key reason, why we added streaming to the physical and digital album sales from next week on.

Streams were not included in this week's albums chart.
Also, the singles also includes airplay, so you cannot just look at the singles charts around the world.
