Of course, why not?
They said that she's ONE of the greatest, not THE greatest songwriter ever.
I find her lyrics very relatable and that's the main reason her songwriting is so praised by everyone.
How many lyrics you REALLY can relate to nowadays? It's rare.

Even though WANEGBT wasn't her best effort but I'm happy it was written that way. It makes me feel good and I can dance to it all day long. Sometimes you don't have to be too serious to be good and Taylor did an amazing job with this song.

WANEGBT is written that way for a reason. It's lead single, and she wants chart-success with her first single of an era
Ppl should stop judging her by her singles, and check her overall discography
There's a reason why ATW, Last Kiss,Dear John, and soon to be Clean, This Love, etc. was never made as her single
Because its lyric has some complexity and it wont work well as single, totally different with WANEGBT, 22, SIO which is more simple. And that's why she's genius too, because she knows how to place her songwriting
When someone points out her songwriting skill, of course it's not judged by only one of her songs, but that person has heard many kinds of Taylor's songs, and that's what you all should do before doubting her

People are so stuck on hipster pseudo-serious lyrics these days that they really can't fathom why critics love her songwriting. She writes great songs and she's one of the best to ever do it. Just accept it. It doesn't mean you have to like her songs or her, but really no one has a solid argument to go against all this praise.

I wouldn't really say the greatest but she's very good and clever.
I'd say someone like Joseline Hernandez is probably the best song writer of this generation

So you're trying to say the GP doesn't like well written songs?

Not when her ability to resonate with people is based in an all-encompassing blandness insipidity that makes her essentially relatable to anyone.
It's similar to how Bella in Twilight was written: her character is essentially a hollow shell completely lacking a personality beyond "awkward teenage girl" in a way that pretty much any person who's ever been a teenager can relate. That doesn't make either the book or the character great or well-written.
Relatability is not in itself a sign of craft, and that's really the only thing Taylor has.
