I would agree with that too, I feel like Beyoncé's success and popularity right now is due more to the fact that her album was released differently than others. The music is good, but it's not as good as her other albums. Beyoncé is huge and would have success anyways, but the quality of her newest album, in my opinion, isn't on the level of Taylor's and Adele's. It's good, just not my favorite.

Beyonce, as an artist, doesn't scream music to me. I mean, she's a STAR, yet her music has no appeal, she won't be remembered as a woman whose music changed the world.

I've personally never heard so many people rave about an album in real life as I have with BEYONCÉ. Without a doubt the release gave it a lot of interest but if there wasn't quality to back it up it wouldn't keep going the way it is and it's not as if people would lie and say they like it if they don't. Surprises don't make you like something.

Let's not turn this into a Beyonce thread kids, it's off topic and will end in a fight.

Yet both Taylor and Adele talk about how they love Beyonce's music. This type of deluded post gets you no where. If you think Beyonce's music hasn't changed the world, how does a teen-pop country ballad or a piano ballad advance music anywhere?

MTE Taylor and Adele earned their wins and success because of the quality of the music, not really because of the hype. Taylor's albums sell extremely well 1st week but are consistent throughout the year compared to her peers who's albums dont sell that much months after the release.

I didn't forget it. My point still stands. I've heard a lot more comments on BEYONCÉ than I had on 21. It was super successful and I knew a lot of people who liked it, but no one was talking about it the same way. I didn't see many facebook status's saying how good it was, etc. etc.

I admit I've never heard it before. Now that I've listened to it I don't see how this changes music? It fits perfectly into country-pop radio. This could be Faith Hill or Sheryl Crowe.

Her achievements are stuff of legends for sure already now. There is no way to deny it. Youngest Grammy AOTY winner ever, most awarded country album of all time, only artist besides The Beatles to log 6 or more weeks at BB200 nr1 with 3 consecutive studio albums. Consecutive over 1 mil opening weeks. Something that we will probably never see again without deep discounting tricks. This is just to name few.
As Bea said i think 8 years is long enough time at the top to not to be be considered a flash in the pan. She has left her mark for sure. Its just a question HOW BIG of legend she will be.
Think of all the millions of people that picked up guitar playing and songwriting because of her. People who will name her as their early inspiration.

I see literally no one on my facebook talking about BEYONCE
You guys are so hell bent on using personal experience with trying to make your faves look better. BEYONCE is no where near the level 21 was at.
Without the surprise release hype she was able to consistently sell above 300,000 PER week. She was able to successfully sell singles AND sell albums. We have yet to see if BEYONCE will achieve any big Hits where 21 had 3 huge worldwide hits.
Maybe more people talk about BEYONCE where you live (perhaps it has something to do with the demographic) BUT there is no way in hell it's been more raved about than 21. That is just delusional.

At first I was so annoyed because she's quite clearly already a legend with success and records that your faves could only dream of. And then I realized there's no reason to be mad because you all already know this. You're trying so hard not to admit it that you're pretending as if she isn't. You're just giving us proof that she already is. You just don't want her to be.

It will be clear that Grammy's are too often handed out based on chart success rather than actual quality. And don't get me wrong, I own quite a few of her songs... but 'Red', her worst album, winning AOTY? I would weep

The competition this time is tougher, not that she doesn't deserve it.
I think they're unlikely going to hand in her this award once again in such a short period of time...
And I don't think winning this award once again would make her a legend, I mean, she doesn't need to factually win AOTY twice to be a legend...

I weep at this whole post. "Red" was critically very acclaimed (especially for a POP album).
You are implying you have never heard her album but yet feel like better judge of quality than professionals who review music for a living?

She single handedly wrote every song on her 3rd album and managed to sell over 1 million copies of it in her first week.
It went on to sell 5.7 million ww
It also recieved critical aclaim.
She isn't restricted to a genre anymore and that's what all great artists become.

Red 'her worst album' is still better than majority of other pop girls albums
