I don't know if ya'll watched the whole thing, but he said he asked the manager why he was following him and the manager said "This is publix...I can go wherever I want.". A mess.
How is that ignorant? Unfortunately that is part of the retail industry. I follow people around my store often, even little old white ladies that try and steal greeting cards. This isn't harassment because he didn't verbally confront them. If anyone deserves blame, it's the people that helped create and reinforce that stereotype. The manager is just protecting his store and his job.

That's what they have security cameras for. That was very ignorant to follow him around, every aisle, and even up to the cashier. That's offensive hun.
He said that he asked the man, and his response was that he can go whatever he wants. WTF? Why are you FOLLOWING ME? He should have answered the question without a smart response.

If i'm not mistaken i saw about 2 or 3 old white ladies in that store and not one of them being FOLLOWED.

It's ignorant because you only see him following the two black teens in a store of maybe 100 or more people. Now why is that?
He was following them because they were young, black and fit the stereotype of what a store thief/shoplifter is. I'm not even one to play the race card, but it's obvious why he was following them. There were many folks in that store he could have followed if it was a norm in the retail industry.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A store owner who is really concerned about their products being stole would've just told the boys he has been having problems with missing merchandise when they asked him about it.
Also, He would've just had the security stand by for any thing out of the ordinary.

Exactly. I've worked in retail and as soon as a black boy would walk in with some baggy clothes on they would follow them with the cameras. Especially if it was a group of em.
