Dunno about 200M AI, but I was waiting for the Grammys performance to make an even bolder claim. I believed that with a Grammy performance SFTTR could become the #1 song of 2012. At the end of the year she'd have close to 5M in sales, a total of 18-20 weeks in the top 10 and about 55 weeks on the BB100...a lead too big for any summer smash to pass (a la Tik Tok).
I don't think Grammy performances have any effect on radio spins anyway. In the grand scheme of things, I think she performed the right song (look at her sales increase for the album). She was also supposed to perform two songs, but we all know there were some changes.
The fact that SFTTR has surpassed SLY's AI and is not that far behind RITD's is crazy.
SFTTR is by far my fav Adele song and one of my all time favorites. <3 I want it to outpeak RITD. (So long as she stays seated behind the Clarkson on the Hot 100, of course).
