04. Fort Minor - Red To Black
- First time you hear this song, you think Chester is in it but he's not. Again one of the few rap songs to make this list.
At first I thought it was Johnathan Davis from Korn
02. Avenged Sevenfold - M.I.A. Fight for honor, fight for your life
Pray to God that our side is right
And though we won I still may lose
Until I make it home to you.
I see our mothers filled with tears
Grew up so fast, where did those years go?
Memories won't let you cry
Unless I don't return tonight.
- Possibly the best song about the war right now. It shows a softer, while still hard side of Avenged Sevenfold. While I used to hate this song when I first heard it, it's a grower and lands at number 2 on this list.
Now some of you MIGHT be shocked to see that number one is NOT In Stereo. In Stereo made my year-end list last year so I did not put it on here. The real number one is....
01. Avenged Sevenfold - Betrayed PASSION IN MY EYES
I lived it everyday
But how could you go
Throw it all away?
In my dreams it's me and you
IT'S THERE I SAW IT ALL COME TRUE
As time went by faith in you grew
SO ONE THING LEFT FOR ME TO DO
- The other song you all should have expected to be high on this countdown, Betrayed. The first time I heard this song a while back, I immediately fell in love with it. All of Synyster Gate's guitar playing and The Rev's drumming are better than most hard rock songs out and will continue to be this for a long time. Shadows voice doesn't screw up the song at all. I can assure you, if this was a single it would have been at one on the singles countdown.
Here we go, time to start the top 30 singles of the year list. Numbers 20-1 will have lyrics excerps, 10-1 will have caps from their videos.
30. Juelz Santana - Oh Yes
- Most of you hate Juelz, w/e he's 30 on my list. That's it.
29. James Blunt - You're Beautiful
- I used to HATE this song when I first heard it. Then on Valentine's Day I seemed to get into it and I didn't stop hating it from there.
28. Chamillionaire - Ridin'
- TRYIN'A CATCH ME RIDIN' DIRTY. Ridin', a song everyone either likes, hates, or pretends to love it as a joke. This is what rap this year should have been like, Chamillionaire and Krayzie Bone did it right.
27. 30 Seconds To Mars - From Yesterday
- From Yesterday recently came out. If I heard it earlier, it probably would have been higher.
26. Akon - Smack That
- Go ahead and hate on Smack That, I don't care. It's catchy and Akon's parts are actually good. Em being in it just makes it a better song. Should have been the huge Akon hit and not I wanna Love You.
25. P!nk - U + Ur Hand
- Yes, a pop song on this countdown. Even more surprising, a female pop song. U + Ur Hand was one of the 3 female songs I actually liked this year, and this was the catchiest of them all so I had to include it.
24. The All-American Rejects - It Ends Tonight
- *See avatar.* The first time I heard this song when the cd first came out, I didn't like it. I thought it was boring. Then when the song kept getting radio play, I fell in love with it. Expect Move Along to be high on here.
23. The Living Things - Bom Bom Bom
- Most of you probably have not heard this song. The first time I downloaded it, I played it 37 times in one day (only beaten by a song in the top 5). A simple song, but very good.
22. AFI - Love Like Winter
- Supposedly this song is number one on a few people's lists on here. I liked it enough to be top 10 a few weeks back, but the lack of play dropped it down to here. IMO much better than Miss Murder and all of AFI's other songs.
