Carrying a concealed weapon isn't remotely the same thing as a threat though.
If you called into a theater and said "I'm going to shoot up the 550 showing of x with my concealed gun" that would be a threat, and it would be taken very seriously, even if most likely you were just some teenage troll.
I don't know why y'all are acting like this is the first time in history a threat has been taken seriously.
We still don't know the full extent of who is making these threats. No one is forcing the businesses to make these decisions. They decided of their own free will that it was better for business to not show the movie. Simple as.
