While Transcendence offers commentary on artificial intelligence, they actually mention that humanity has been incapable of creating an adequately impressive artificial intelligence; they merely "copy" an organic or natural intelligence--Johnny Depp's character--into a computer. That intelligence does not transcend its mandate because it is not an artificial intelligence, and it never decides that humans "are the problem" and, indeed, spends the movie trying to help humans.
