Can y'all not do my girl Ashanti like dis? Her first and second album still slay.
I don't think she meant she could do more technically, just that that she had a certain image and sound (the girl next door with the light vocals) that wouldn't have suited Beyoncé.
Y'all need to stop coming for Ashanti. She is R&B royalty and still has so many classic songs that still stand the test of time in the black community at least.
Not when Bey was the first black female songwriter to win an ASCAP (Songwriter of the Year) in 2001.
Oh ok that's nice. But Ashanti wrote every song on her debut album all of which were huge hits, plus she wrote hits for other artist as well. Her underrated pen skills>>>>>

You know since she mentioned the name Beyonce they're gonna attack her without looking for context.

Ashanti had her beat in the song writing department.
No she didn't. Ashanti's lyrics are so cheesy with a random "baby" ad-lib thrown in. The songs Bey wrote for Destiny's Child are better than anything she's ever done and she's not seeing Bey when it comes to composing vocal arrangements.
Why do y'all have to come for every single person who has something to say about Beyonce? And it's not even negative. Like, I stan Bey, but y'all want to scream equality and ****, respect each other and ****. But you are the FIRST to disrespect a person who has a different opinion than you.
Sort your lives out for crying out loud
