D/1 : DAY 1
So we're officially starting up! Hopefully I'll update everyday (
). Hopefully.
Presented by
Athens, since he made the AMAZING job of making this beautiful layout.
| The Ready Set
"More Than Alive"
This guy does have really good pop stuff out there. Too bad that people only recognize,
and just a little bit, "Love Like Woe" when he has so much better songs. You should really listen
to him, More Than Alive is great. |
| Ke$ha
"Blow"
Thankfully we had a little bit of K$ during this year, and she nailed it with two great pop songs.
This time we have "Blow", an amazing catchy dance song. |
| Hot Chelle Rae
"Tonight Tonight"
Mah boys made it to the scene. And they delivered one of the catchiest songs of the year. |
| Avril Lavigne
"Smile"
Though she returned to a more "pop-rock" oriented music,
it wasn't an excuse to have her under the pop tag. |
| Selena Gomez & The Scene
"Love You Like A Love Song"
Pop love song of the year? Probably, Selena brought us a repetitive tune,
that had us on repe-pe-pe--pe-pe-pe-peat. |
| Rihanna
"Only Girl (In The World)"
I didn't like the Rated R era because it was "too urban". For our luck,
Rihanna returned to the pop and catchy side with this amazing first single. |
| Lady Gaga
"Born This Way"
It IS an anthem. And it IS underrated. It doesn't matter if it was an
Express Yourself rip-off, or capital M-A-D-O-N-N-A. |
| Adele
"Rolling In The Deep"
Doesn't need an explanation, not even an introduction. |
| Katy Perry
"Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"
I dare to say that her reign continued all along 2011. She gave us three (or four)
awesome singles, each one of them with memorable videos. Totally deserved this second place. |
| Britney Spears
"I Wanna Go"
And the Queen seats calmly on her throne for the first out of ____ times
that you'll see her in number one. Be prepared. |
So I know that y'all aren't here for this section, so for the few that'll care, I'll make it quick and simple.
I'm not that much into videogames, but THAT one videogame that I was raised with, is
DONKEY KONG COUNTRY. It ***** on lives. I freaking lived for those games back in the 90's, remember when even my parents used to play the difficult levels for us.
So many memories...
And after several flops and after they understood that those tacky rip and spin-offs they've made sucked, finally Nintendo saw the light and had the brilliant idea to return to DKC.
If you're a fan, go play it, cause it's awesome. If you're not, go play it, cause it's awesome.
I have to highlight that it's not the same without the kremlins, they ruled.
And there are some things that I wish they conserved (like the original barrels). But I'm fine, I hope they make another one with the Kremlin Kast.
This one will be faster. I enjoy playing some apps when I'm bored, so they occupied many minutes of my life during this year; because of that, they deserved a "honorable mention".
Some games I really enjoyed were
Doodlejump* (The Hop version, which was the only good thing about that horrible movie),
Dark Nebula 2 (Go play the first one, it's addictive),
Shape Shift* (Simple game that makes you stay there for hours) and of course,
Angry Birds*. *These ones are available for both iPod/Phone and iPad.
As the same time, I study Animation, so Autodesk offers us two incredible apps. If you like to draw in your spare time and create characters, etc.
Sketchbook Express is the app for you. Intuitive, easy to use and with professional results. You can go buy the Pro one, it was for sale this week if I remember. On the other hand, if you want something more "crafty" and fun,
1234 Sculpt it's a really simple app that permits you to create digital sculptures, based on previously-made ones. They have helped me for some projects, I hope you enjoy them as well. Both are free and only available for iPad.
