Radio 1 being the prestigious thing that it is, are in assumption that Alexandra isn't a credible artist by their standards. They haven't been avid supporters of her music. The UK really works a whole lot differently to the US in the way that people perceive and appreciate music. I really think Alexandra is better suited to the American market to be honest, but whether we will see that happen in the near future is questionable.

That's not really true. They play all the other prominent X-Factor acts who all (aside from Leona) have less talent than Alex's little finger.
It's clearly a personal issue. I'm not sure if there has been an incident either involving her and R1 or her label team and R1, but there's no way this is all just a coincidence.
I agree that she's better-suited to the US though. In general, she seems to rub people in the UK up the wrong way for some reason. As other people said, it's always the men. And, I mean, she's black, female and really loud and opinionated (while Rihanna tends to save her drama for her twitter page).
I still remember her week on X Factor - she made a lot of constructive and correct comments, but also clearly went there just to enjoy herself, make silly jokes and share lighthearted banter. Then the next day people were constantly talking about how fame had gotten to her head and how full of herself she was on the show for basically not sitting there in complete silence etc. It was ridiculous.
