First of all, we can argue that Adele would be even more successful in a time when Album Sales weren't in the pits all day. But that doesn't change the fact that Britney sold more, and reached a far larger audience than Adele OVERALL, and is considered a Pop-Music ICON for her massive achievements. Adele can't even dream of topping that.
