The Guardian hit it on the nail. Rihanna's constant release is not because "she loves making music," is because Def Jam doesn't want you to forget about her. They want her to accumulate as many hits she can before she dries out. The funny thing is, I think Rihanna would be perfectly fine if she took a break. At this point, Rihanna is big enough to not fall completely under the radar after a short break. Def Jam is using their security in Rihanna, hit making machine, to cover up the insecurity that she may fade away.
I mean, they didn't even wait until Cheers finished smashing. I'd understand if this were a re-release, but an entire new album?
