No, there's all types of christians and catholics who don't believe in the Bible for the exact reason you stated... there are also christians who don't care about the Pope because he's a man.

I wouldn't say I am atheist, more agnostic. I haven't had any experience that has made me truly believe in any god and I am not going to lie about it to please my family. I do however see the teachings of Jesus as an excellent moral guideline. Love everyone, even your enemy.

I don't know how I feel about an afterlife but I think the hope to see a loved one who is gone when you die yourself is one that is important for human kind. Believing you have truly lost someone forever is a concept that is almost too hard to wrap your head around when in a state of grief.

I do not totally believe in an afterlife but I want to and I feel I may when I lose a Grandparent or someone else close to me.

Although it is unfair to completely generalize. Some Christians are lovely people who wish no harm on anyone.

My best-friend and her whole family are Quakers which is a branch of Christianity that fascinates me because it is so different. I have often felt that might be a path I go down.

I question my beliefs all the time. I feel like I do believe but there are some things in the bible & christian teachings that make me question it.

Not really. The bible was written by man whether they be prophets or not and down the line the translations have been twisted. Books have been completely taken out to further to means of certain churches. For example how many Christians here have read the gospel of Judas? Taken out of the bible at the council of Mycenae. There is more to it than we realize.

Also I believe that the God in the old testament and the God in the New testament are complete contradictions of eachother. Almost seems like they are two different Gods.

I believe there is more to us than flesh that fades as well.

It's why many people believe that the people they love never leave them. I don't know if it is a soul or residual energy or just that memories and love can be incredibly strong.

I believe in God, a heaven, hell, purgatory, aliens, demons/angels, and barely listen to what priest or the pope says is right or wrong. For Christ's sake, getting a haircut/piercing/tattoo is a sin. And I believe God shows himself through people & things, and sometimes the only way to believe is to have an actual experience.

It's in medical literature and books, i.e. I can't give you a link unless you'd like to take a trip to Barnes & Noble. It's not so hard to understand though - those with deep convictions generally have a greater sense of purpose, which increases longevity and helps you get over illness faster.
