That's what R&B is - Black people singing. Back in the day, music made by black folk was called 'Race Music'. The Civil Rights Movement got into full swing. Opinions and social climate began to change. Record companies needed a new name for 'Race Music'. They came up with 'Rhythm & Blues'.
