Manuelangel's Best of 2008 | Top 75 Singles of '08 (75 - 71)
Hi Guys Well here I am, and I will start with one of the most interesting categories for me, the Best 75 Singles of the Year, you can see in the right side of the single cover my explanation of why that single deserve that position. The Party is starting!
75. Vanessa Hudgens - Sneakernight from "Identified"
After the polemic scandal about her nude photos, Vanessa Hudgens found the way to leave that to the past, and keep in the future, Sneakernight is definetly a prove that she's not over, though it's not great as "Say Ok" or many songs of her first album. I really hope the next record will have that kind of sound of her first album.
74. Snow Patrol - Take Back the City from "A Hundred Million Suns"
This band from Scotland were so unknown for me before their album "Eyes Open", they catched my atention because the song "Chasing Cars" were so played on Grey's Anatomy one of my favorite TV series, well I have to say this song is good but not as "Chasing Cars", "Eyes Open" or my favorite "You're all I Have" but is good to see so many things different
73. Linkin Park - "Given Up" from "Minutes to Midnight"
Linkin Park one of the best rock bands of this millenium, released in March their 4th single from their # 1 album and one of the best selling album in 2007 "Minutes to Midnight", this song is great when I heard this the first time, I was convinced that this will be a single. One of my favorites of this album
72. Avril Lavigne - "The Best Damn Thing" from "The Best Damn Thing"
I have to say Avril is one of my favorite pop singers but this song is not good for a single, is like Girlfriend Part II, is not that bad but is something that is better not as single specially when you have so many good options to take of this album like "Runaway", "I Don't Have to Try" or "Innocence". And the video is ew Hollaback Girl. Next time think better your singles choices Avril
71. Oasis - I'm Outta Time from "Dig Out your Soul"
Oasis is that band that you'll never forget because their sound is unique and fresh, Wonderwall is a unforgettable hit and I'm really impressed with this new album is really really good, and this track is slow, one of my favorites, and is the actual single by the way. Can't wait to see future projects of this band!
I used Snow Patrol, but that was before "Take Back the City", what a great song, I'll check A Hundred Million Suns soon.
TBDT is really not as good as most of Avril songs, and Dig Out Your Soul is epic, I dare to say it's their best since Be Here Now. I guess I've just revealed one of my top 10 artists this year.
Manuelangel's Best of 2008 | Top 75 Singles of '08 (70 - 66)
70. Paula Abdul ft. Randy Jackson - Dance Like there is no Tomorrow from "Randy Jackson's Music Club Vol. 1"
This track is the comeback of pop singer Paula Abdul better known as one of the judge of America's most viewed show American Idol, the track is featuring Randy Jackson and is good, is really cool play it but is not something to impress.
69. Simple Plan - Your Love is a Lie from "Simple Plan"
This band makes me remember the time when I was fourteen, their first and second album are like memories to me specially songs like "Addicted", "I'd Anything", "Welcome to My Life and "Shut Up", this track is nothing near of those masterpieces but is not that bad.. but I was expecting more.
68. Dido - "Don't Believe in Love" from "Safe Trip to Home"
The typical song that Dido could make and sing, is great but in this level I'm not connected with this song, I really hope that her new album will have better songs than this!, I'm crossing my fingers!.
67. Leona Lewis - "Forgive Me" from "Spirit"
I'm sure some people will say wtf! why leona is in this position?!, well Leona is that kind of singer that I'm only connected because her ballads, I don't know is difficult for me accept an up-tempo song from her! is not bad because it debuted on my countdown.
66. Alicia Keys - Superwoman from "As I Am"
One Word: Talent. That word express everything that Alicia has, Superwoman is one of my favorites tracks on As I Am. I remember when I did the As I Am Survivor, I wanted Superwoman to win but well I guess No One is more catchy!. I still listening that album after one year is really nice to listen
