That's not a good reason. And DIL can be considered a "hit".
Its the same thing and I'm pretty sure Right Now got dragged on here.
Quote if wrong.

Also, as people are pointing out, urban-only singles have a harder time peaking high on the Hot 100 due to the limited airplay in comparison to pop stations (Man Down, for example). Also, she barely promotes past the first two singles anyway.

I know ![weeps](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/52b0f867.gif) She literally did not care at all for that single.

Another thing is her singles are usually released so quickly since she has to get like 5/6 singles released in the span of a year before her next album. That allows a lot of her flops go by unnoticed - like how We Found Love was still #1 on the Hot 100 in January 2012 but it was already announced Talk That Talk would be the 3rd single around that time
Good thing ICON has changed ha pace. Coming to SLAY again like her Good Girl Gone Bad era.

rihanna doesn't really have that many flops though.
because her "flop" songs don't even sound like they were supposed to be hits in the first place.
te amo and rockstar 101 were released at the same time, weren't pop songs and never seemed like they were suppose to be hits.
california king bed and man down were released at the same time and did very well in different countries. also man down was a hit on urban radio. these were songs meant to make new fans. not something made for the radio.
ttt really only had 3 singles and all did pretty well
unapologetic only had 4 singles. 2 were smashes, pour it up did really well despite not having a video and what now was released really late and was never promoted. it was more of an artistic song made to attract new fans.
not everything has to be a smash pop hit, sometimes its good to just release music because you love it and it's something for your own artistic integrity. i actually love that not eveything rihanna releases is suppose to be a smash hit. she's proven over and over that she can have smash hits. she has 13 numbers one and like 25 top 10 songs!

She was dragged to the pits by everyone for the longest because she didn't have a #1 album. When TTT came out it was a drag fest from start to finish. Even the Kesha stans were dragging her because K$ has a #1 album but Riri didn't have one yet. And when she finally got it, the jokes still came pouring in.

Her career has always been a nonevent. And Katy is not dragged for flopping. Lol, even after 2 consecutive flops no one really cares. All because they are single's artists and have no real impact outside the radio. Good for them, I guess

I remember a gif of Katy, Bey, Gaga (?) at a 4 way intersection blocking Rih from turning(?) lol I'm sure that's what was happening, but does anyone still have that? It was around right before Unapologetic era was about to commence

Her career being a "nonevent" when all major music publications ask "where is Rihanna?" and "Is #R8 coming this year??"
Spin the wheel again! ![lmao](http://atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/lmao.gif)

No one drags Bey for songs like Get Me Bodied though. People only drag Partition, Pretty Hurts, etc. because that's all they have after her slayage tbh

She does it with style. She always has hits. No one cares if she flops, even though she doesn't flop, I mean, she's had a few failed singles, but you can't call a #1 Urban hit a flop.

And one of the reasons why she didn't get dragged too much is because the Navy didn't over hype her albums/eras like the other fan bases.
I'm not saying the Navy doesn't hype her albums, but not to that extent where there's a thread made every day on how the album will be the "best selling album" or will be the "most iconic album".
ARTPOP for example.

Because she doesn't flop. She releases a lot of singles per era and some do better than others, but no matter what she has a smash or two (or more) each era

She literally lets the label issue them out to radio way too late, doesn't give it promotion or a video at times like Right Now. I think her only true flop is CKB because that was seriously pushed and should have been huge off the heel of three big hits but again Cheers clearly should have been the 4th LOUD single, it peaked at #7 without a real video and it was the sixth single.
Also to that last point she has many songs she doesn't touch and they blow up like Break It Off, big top ten hit with no video or promotion. Cheers, Pour It Up etc. Stay got a basic ass video and little promo, (SNL was before it was a single) and it is now a signature hit for her.
So in final and I will shut up, she is effortless. People know better than to count out queen of music and versatility
|
And CKB only flopped in the US, it slayed Europe

Te Amo slayed Europe, the flop is Rockstar 101 ![eli's_rhythm](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/eli_zps0932edf9.gif)

All her flops occur when her hits are still conquering the radio....

I don't have that gif but I remember it.
And aside from whether or not she gets dragged for flopping, she gets dragged regardless; everyone here on ATRL does.
