They're both on the same league. Right now Star Wars is more established, but Harry Potter will be the same in the decades to come. I mean, for my generation, so people from 15 to 28 years old Harry Potter is the biggest event. I don't really know who could say otherwise.

They are both legendary events of two generations, and both appealing to the new generations too.

There's been a topic like this before, and it was just as silly then as it is now. Of COURSE Star Wars is more "iconic", and I'm a fan of both series. As much as I love the Potter series, it really isn't a contest.

Star Wars was the biggest cultural event of 1977. It is the biggest cultural event of 2015, and nothing else comes close.

Screw "10 years". Let's see if Potter can even come close to doing what Star Wars is doing right now in 2039. If it does, I will come back to ATRL and post regularly in 2039, even though, by that point, I'll be in my fifties.
