Disappointed in The Black Keys' numbers. El Camino opened with 206k and also they are coming off a very successful era. This just shows how terrible music sales are overall.

Well EC was a December release, and according to MC the reviews are in the mid-70s rather than the 80s like the last 2 albums. It feels like they would be a band for whom reviews would matter.

Yeah it seems with the new change in sound it may alienated some fans. I LOVE Brothers and El Camino, but I still bought the album. Yes, it is different sound, but it is still a good album for me.

140k for a posthumous album after the massive collapse of album sales over the past 10 years is really decent.

Coldplay shouldn't be worried, they will comfortably open over 350k thanks to their appeal to pop fans and casual listeners. They're not really rock anymore, how could you call "A Sky Full of Stars" a rock song?
