That's actually really sad, if you point that a song going Gold and barely Top 40 is the biggest song by an R&B Female in 2015.

Rap, and Male R&B has came back to the charts but Female R&B continues to die. It's like labels gave up on investing in new females doing R&B.

I wouldn't call it 'so successful' but it did ok considering RnB is not as popular as the way it used to be despite there's still some major success such as The Weeknd.

Back to OP, i think the main reason is that there is no release from other major RnB artist. So actually there's almost no competitor.
