But WTF? Apparently Nicole Scherzinger, Taio Cruz, Flo Rida, Cheryl Cole, Wale, The Pussycat Dolls, and The Game are among the artists with the "most occurences" in my library, but I don't have ONE song by any of them.
Most occurrences means that they show up the most as "recommended" artists. So if you have Gaga in your library and Madonna shows up as recommended. And Britney in your library and Madonna shows up again, then she'd have 2 occurrences.

Is this accurate? How the hell is Katy Perry on my top artist?
EDIT: Cheryl Cole and Pixie Lott? Never had a song of them in my library
Could somebody please tell me how does this work

Every artists has other artists that classify as "similar artists", which you can see if you click on their profile.
The artists you listed had the most occurrences as a "similar artist" to those in your top 50.

So apparently every white female pop star is classified as "Madonna".
