Ratings for the second episode were fantastic. 11.64 million in total viewers and a 3.9 share, pulling off nearly the same numbers as with the pilot. This is the HIT show of the season.
As for this week's episode, I'm just a little bit disappointed by Maleficent, because I adore Kristin Bauer's acting on True Blood and I just missed the edge on her character. Maleficent comes across as very weak in this series, what I don't like to be honest. Hopefully we will see much more of her though. The twist with the Evil Queen's father Henry was done very nicely, especially when you think about that he said to her that when he kills her, there will be a hole that's never going to be filled. And the Evil Queen/Regina named the boy Henry, because she tries to fill that hole with him, but it's just not working. Moreover, I already love all the mythology they have developed in just two episodes. Plus the show looks fantastic visually. Kudos to the writers and everyone involved.
Watched OUAT 1st episode and Grimm 1st episode last week, prefer OUAT Really like main actress and little the boy My fav scence is Snow White take care of Prince Charming <3
Official press release for the fourth episode: 'The Price Of Gold'
EMMA TRIES TO HELP A YOUNG PREGNANT WOMAN ESCAPE FROM MR. GOLD,
AND CINDERELLA MAKES A REGRETTABLE DEAL WITH RUMPLESTILTSKIN,
ON ABC’S “ONCE UPON A TIME”
Jessy Schram (“Falling Skies”) Guest Stars as Cinderella
“The Price of Gold” – Emma tries to help a young pregnant woman escape from the clutches of Mr. Gold. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale world that was, Cinderella (Jessy Schram, “Falling Skies”) makes a regrettable deal with Rumplestiltskin, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Jared Gilmore as Henry Mills, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/John Doe and Raphael Sbarge as Jiminy Cricket/Archie Hopper.
Guest starring are Jamie Dornan as Sheriff Graham, Jessy Schram as Ashley/Cinderella, Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, Meghan Ory as Ruby/Red Riding Hood, Catherine Lough Haggquist, as Fairy Godmother, Tim Phillips as Sean/Prince Thomas, Jarod Joseph as Billy, Natalie Gibson as female doctor and Ted Whittall as Mitchell/The King.
“The Price of Gold” was written by David H. Goodman and directed by David Solomon.
Richard Schiff (The West Wing) has landed a recurring guest role on OUAT as King Leopold, Snow White's father:
Having previously served under President Bartlet, Richard Schiff will soon lord over a dominion of his own — on Once Upon A Time.
While I shan’t reveal much more here, fairy tale enthusiasts can probably predict who this king will be wed to when we meet him in Episode 11. But what you very well might not know is what character’s somewhat tragic (yet thoroughly romantic) backstory he will figure into.
Schiff’s most recent TV credits include The Cape, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and an upcoming episode of NBC’s Up All Night (playing the father of another pretty princess, Christina Applegate).
Once Upon a Time | This much we know about young Henry: His birth mom, Emma, is significant because she has the power to undo the Evil Queen’s curse. And Henry himself is significant because he apparently offers Regina a “second chance” of sorts, seeing as he’s named after the father she sacrificed to exact “the curse to end all curses.” But what about Henry’s birth dad? Who is he, will we ever meet him, and how might he fit into the picture? Or is that perhaps a big Season 1 finale bombshell? “That might be a Season 6 finale!” Jennifer Morrison responded with a laugh when I popped the paternity question. “I’ve heard rumblings of ideas about Henry’s father and how he fits into all of this,” she went on to share, “but that is something that is definitely going to take a long time to be revealed.”
Have you fallen under the spell of Once Upon a Time? I hope so! Because I'm craving scoops! — Sherrie
NATALIE: Since Emma has been booted from the local inn, it's time for a mother/daughter sleepover! Emma will begrudgingly make use of Snow White Mary Margaret's spare room. Speaking of Snow, she'll save her Prince Charming, whose real name we'll learn this week, in both universes. True love prevails... though that may be the real curse.
Question: I’m absolutely loving Once Upon A Time, but I’m dying to know: Are we ever going to get the scuttlebutt on the cute British sheriff? Does he have a fairytale counterpart? —Kathleen
Ausiello: Answers are coming — and soon! “That particular question is one we intend to answer definitively within the first batch of episodes we’ve already produced,” reveals exec producer Adam Horowitz, adding, “We love that people are theorizing already!”
Sandra, I love Once Upon a Time as much as you do. Scoop, please! – A.J
Well, first make sure you’ve read my scoop from the set. Check? Okay. Now, having just watched the “prequel” episode I told you about in that piece — the one that tells the story of when Snow met Charming — I can tell you that the ep is packed with mythology from both worlds. (Example: You learn who found John Doe!) For me, the highlight was getting a glimpse of the super-sassy Snow from back in the day and seeing her fight with Charming about his jewels. (I mean literal gemstones, you pervs.) She’s hilarious, and it’s one of Ginnifer Goodwin’s finest hours on TV. (Yes, I’m including Big Love.) Also cool? The Once interpretation of trolls!
Expect to see more evil queens and disgruntled men on ABC.
The network announced full seasons of Happy Endings and freshman shows Once Upon a Time and Last Man Standing on Thursday. Five additional scripts for the '60s jet-setting period drama Pan Am have also been ordered.
In its sophomore season, the relationship sitcom Happy Endings has averaged 7.3 million viewers in its last six outings. The Oct. 23 debut of the fairy-tale drama Once Upon a Time gave ABC its best scripted series premiere numbers in two years. It drew in 12.79 million viewers and posted a 3.9 among the coveted 18-49 demo. Last Man Standing, Tim Allen's return to series television, premiered to 13.19 million viewers. The sitcom has slid in subsequent weeks, but still grabbed a respectable 9.3 million on Tuesday.
Pan Am, which stars Christina Ricci, had a strong takeoff with 11.06 million viewers, but has been steadily descending in the ratings. Its last outing only drew 5.46 million viewers.
