It's not just about the military. Frankly I don't think that many gays want to serve. It's about discrimination in general - if it's OK to have discrimination in some areas, then it makes it OK to have it in other areas.

Equal treatment and justice is the main thing we're looking for here. Straight soldiers can speak openly about their love lives, gay soldiers have to hide everything. It's unlawful and makes NO ****ing sense, there's no justification of it.

Not all straight men are homophobic, I don't think many of them would have a problem with gay men in the army. We are all equal, if someone wants to be in the military then their sexuality shouldn't be a cause for discrimination.
