Now, I have some ideas for the next go round of this game, which I'd like to do over the next four months; when everyone has much more free time. I've been tinkering with it, and I think the next time that we play it, we start with 64 artists, not 100. Honestly, there was too much clutter; too many artists that are frankly terrible playing. They had no chance of advancing past the first round, and we all knew that. Here's what I'm thinking:

Option #1: Cull the 64 artists from the next game from those that didn't advance from the first round. Obviously, I'd cut out all the cherrypicks that didn't work (hello Lolene!) or weren't supported by the cherrypickers (simon1011 amd Enrique, for example). It could be really interesting to see certain "genres" (indie, country, hip-hop) get a second chance. This also means that new top fours could be sent!

Option #2: THE. 1990s! Same rules - only songs from 90-99, but O.M.G. YOU GUYS?!?!??! I can't wait to do a top four for Wilson Phillips. and Color Me Badd. We could also try for the 1980s, but I have a feeling I'd have to come up with the artists myself, lest I be pummeled with the likes of Bon Jovi. Me no gusta.

What say ye? And tell me/us, what were your favorite/least favorite aspects of the game? Any surprises? I'm just so happy we finished it!

Respectable, but totally predictable, winner. I'm a little disappointed, but only because I genuinely believe that "Paranoid" was the best song in the finale. Oh, well. Congrats, Gaga!

If we just use the artists who didn't make it past the first round, would the field be all that compelling?

'90s would be really fun, but I feel like things could get pretty skewed toward certain artists, considering how young most of ATRL is now. How about something like The Best of the Best of the "TRL" Era? Or each week, the first round could represent a different decade or genre?

But the problem with this logic is that there's also people like myself and Bart that absolutely stan for the music of the 90's, and there are quite a few people on the forum that listen to music from that era or even older. And sure, there's a chance that it could wind up being skewed toward certain artists, but there's also a chance that we could have a final like we just had here, with one ATRL mainstay, a musical genius and an underdog making up the final three artists.

Personally, I would LOVE to do one for the 80's, let alone the 90's.
