There's definitely some similarity with PDP in the chorus (but nothing that would provide a good basis for any infringement case, as far as I can tell). I know people love to pit her and Madonna against each other, specifically when it comes to their sonic similarities and it's such a stupid way of thinking.

I don't know why people see this is a bad thing - Madonna has been one of the major forces that shaped pop music in the last couple of decades. It's almost an outright given that she'd be an influence on Gaga, regardless of whether either one hates the comparison. In terms of sound, they tend to draw from the same well because they work within the same realm of pop music - and they both have always pushed the boundaries of pop music in ways few other artists ever dare to attempt.
