Absolutely, cops seems to be far more threatened by black suspects than white ones, which isn't a surprise when you consider how Black men are portrayed in the media. Racism is a huge issue in America. Denying/ignoring that only makes the problem worse.
With that said, I get where Brody is coming from, though he could have worded his rant way better. It's important to listen to officers instructions and to be as less threatening as possible-- don't move until they say, don't resist, don't make any sudden movements or reach for things, keep your hands visible, etc. We have to remember that cops are people too. They don't know who will try to kill them, but they do seem to believe that Black people are more likely to attempt to. This is the problem, and it will remain a problem until people like Brody acknowledge racism rather than ignore it because they're not "racist and don't see color".
