This was Kacey's second single and I absolutely love the direction she took here. She really captured the feel of those who feel like they're stuck in a poor economic situation during rough times. The grim imagery through the song with its overall laidback vibe makes for a nice experience. The song is also very catchy; the bridge is just fire here. Really wonderfully storytelling in a country song. The song had a good peak and solid longevity.
What a great alternative-leaning song. The instrumentation in the beginning gets me every time. And the lyrics are just perfect. I really like how his voice sounds through the whole thing too. Really this song is just a total anthem in every way, the chorus is so big. Another song with a solid peak and longevity.
Another entry for Armin van Buuren which shouldn't be surprising with his amazing album. This song lasted a bit shorter, but was able to peak pretty close to the summit of my chart. Armin's production pretty much makes the track in every way. However Fiora's vocals do blend so well into the music, it would be incorrect to say she had no part in making this a hit. Really, the lyrics themselves could be anything and I wouldn't care; it's just her heavenly voice melting into the background that makes this good.
Another song with an absurdly low peak, but it had a weird chart run always close to that peak; it was simply just a competitive time: only one song that was higher the week that this song peaked at #18 didn't make this countdown. This was a nice single for Tim McGraw, who I've always had a lot of respect for. His vocals here are great and the song is perfect for him with terrific production.
It's wonderful that this song is smashing now; but it actually entered my chart in January of this year, so it's insanely old to me. Still it was a smash back then, quickly shooting up my chart. It ended up being on the shorter longevity side, but still a great hit overall. Very mellow, very relaxed; with a hint of seductiveness to it.
