Amazon should just discount the album to $0.99 forever so it can pass 1million.

"In the zone" is already elegible for 3xplatinum it was recently reprorted that it passed the 3M mark in the US .... it doesn't need any discount to get the 3rd platinum ..... it could perfectly get the Certification today if her label decides it.

No, they don't have to sell **** in order to be certified. SoundScan and RIAA are two separate entities and not related at all. RIAA tracks total shipments, while SoundScan tracks sales at 14k or something locations in the States and doesn't track all music sales (club sales, for example.) There's no eligibility for a certification. An album is eligble for a platinum certifition when it ships 1 million, 2x platinum certification when it ships 2 million, 3x platinum certification when it ships 3 million, and so on.
