There's obviously more than this, so I only included the ones that had more than a million views (and actually had the audio of the song included). It also has 16,558,622 streams on Spotify alone, more streams than any individual YouTube video.
That's a grand total of 87,197,975 streams between YouTube and Spotify, without any official single release. Can you imagine the slayage if it had a VEVO official lyric video like Dressin' Up? Poor IKAG, ToY, WUIV and Birthday.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the middle section of Katy's albums? They're always spot on. My three favourite tracks from each album are If You Can Afford Me, The One That Got Away and This Is How We Do, which are all in the middle of their respective albums.
#7, Hot N Cold, The One That Got Away, This Is How We Do
#8, If You Can Afford Me, E.T., International Smile.
If only TIHWD had peaked at #3 like HNC and TOTGA.

I'm sure it would've gone #1 even without the radio support. Truly the smash that got away.

It definitely would have, no question. HH would have gone at least #2.
About a month before TOTGA's single release, Peacock was at 403k, HH was at 82k and TOTGA was at 74k. They must have gone with TOTGA because it was the last Dr. Luke song on the album and it would be a slight change of pace, because based on sales it was clear that Peacock and HH were better options.
I still think International Smile was the #1 that got away.
I'm surprised she didn't release PRISM: The Complete Spectrum with four bonus tracks and a remix of This is How We Do feat. Missy Elliott.
If she'd just committed to making PRISM another fun era instead of trying to show diversity with Uncle, it would have set the era up so much better. IS has always been the HH of PRISM for me. After Roar, literally any other song from the first half of PRISM other than Uncle would have been a perfect follow-up smash.
The album "only" produced 2 #1s/Top 10s and after TIHWD missed the Top 20 I guess they didn't see the point in trying to push the era anymore. Plus she didn't really have much time to record new music anyway with the tour. TIHWD ft. Iggy would have fit more that Missy imo.

There is no doubt in my mind that Peacock was the true #1 that got away. It's not like it's too dirty. I mean Whistle peaked at 1 so...
California Gurls is iconic and a summer staple. The music video alone is more remembered than Teenage Dream will ever be. But with that being said, I still think Teenage Dream is one of Katy's best songs and it's definitely a classic. It's the song she wants new listeners to hear first when they're introduced to Katy Perry.
