I think you're missing the point. How big of a role he played is irrelevant. The fact is those voters are not informed and that is not something to praise. There's also a reason why youth is so heavily behind Bernie, we're sick of the status quo that Hillary and the democratic/republican establishment represent. It has done nothing for us for many years. No one is pretending that things are going to solved 5 or 9 years from now but why do we keep willfully choosing candidates that have repeatedly failed to protect our country's future.
With that said, in comparison to Hillary, Bernie is practically a civil rights icon.
