The MR drop...How can a song with a discount and huge promo drop that fast?
Em, the Carpool Karaoke effect peaked though a few days ago
Itīs not like it was the originally the second single after all, it was just promotional single but how the GP reacted after they heard 50% of the song in the CK, it was made into the second single instead of A-yo. So yeah, plus it hasnīt yet been submitted in the radios so and a little discount helped it push into the top 10 in itunes.

A promo in CK with only 50% sang by Gaga
Initially a promo single but changed into the second single a day ago. Because of itunes chart
No award show or big promo performances.

I was wrong with the last one, but MR did not peak after the performance though or was any indication that it was the second single. After all, it was initially a promotional single so it was (during that time) not a priority of Gaga to be promoted first, unlike A-yo.
With the CK being bigger than SNL and reaching more countries, it became apparent that MR is more well received than A-yo after it was aired (although, the reason why A-yo hadnīt had like MRīs rise in Itunes was because it was not played during the CK, which is the arguably biggest segment of the night but rather Gaga played 30 seconds of A-yo each time after commercial ended which was weird), hence it became the newly second single yesterday.
Monday we will hopefully get conformation for it's 12th week at #1 on digital songs. Record is 13 weeks (Low and Uptown Funk). Not sure yet
Currently it's looking good that it will tie at least with Starboy down at 87%, but Starboy has the SNL re-run and Closer should drop on Monday again.
hopefully it will be big.
