Rewatching OUAT in Wonderland to refresh my memory, i forgot about how complex Jafar's backstory is.
Think i'm going to attempt to rewatch the earlier seasons of ouat too, ive only seen it through once.

I finally decided to rewatch the entire series. I'm almost done with Season 2. You actually see so much more the 2nd time around. It actually makes me think the writing isn't nearly as messy. You just miss little subtle cues the first time around.

exactly for this reason. I mean, the first time around i was so surprised by all of Season 1 and 2. So much has happened since then. Seems ages since Regina was mayor + Emma didn't believe.

Season 1 slaying my life. Realising if Regina never did the curse, Henry wouldn't exist.
I hope Season 6 is well written

Here's the other ironic twist.... (Not sure where you're at in the show, so this might contain S2 and on spoilers)
The entire curse was set up by Rumple to get to the land without magic and get his son, Baelfire back. Emma was then written into the curse as the Savior. However, Henry was the reason she even went to Storybrooke in the first place. Henry wouldn't exist without Neal (Baelfire) and Emma. So the entire thing is this weird circle of events all leading back to Baelfire and Rumple literally being responsible for basically everything. lol. Bae wouldn't have left the Enchanted Forest if Rumple hadn't become the Dark One. Rumple only became the Dark One to protect Bae. However, the only reason he had to do it was because Milah ran away with Hook, who only left Rumple because of what the seer said would happen to him. If he hadn't listened to the seer, none of this would've happened. He also had a hand in Snow White and Charming getting together because he knew they would create the "savior". He's literally responsible for everything. Including teaching Cora magic, which obviously led to Regina using magic and becoming The Evil Queen.

Omg I have seen the series in full I am just re-watching it for the first time. Literally pointing out things I forgot were coming up in each episode.
But yes. to think so much happened because of Rumple! .i miss him as Rumple in the later seasons, "Mr Gold" is quite boring. Same w "Mary Margaret", they better actually bring back badass Snow White.

I'm rewatching it for the first time too. I'm almost done with Season 3.
I actually have to say that the writing isn't as bad as we tend to say it is. There are so many subtle things that were done in the first 3 seasons that have led to things like Regina's redemption, Rumple's regression, etc. There are some flaws in how magic works and when it's convenient and stuff, but the character development is actually spot on.

I've been rewatching the series and I just got done with Quiet Minds (season three). I love the characters in the Enchanted Forest and prefer them to the Storybrooke versions. Here's to hoping everyone and everything will get a little more intense this season. There just haven't been that high of stakes recently. Not even with Killian's "death." There were with Robin's death, but only for two seconds before he sacrificed himself for Regina. (Yeah, I'm over it now because I'm excited to see the Evil Queen again.)
The Evil Queen is so... evil! I just really love her and how heartless she is. I want to see her do some REAL damage this season. Here's to hoping she'll do something really, really, really terrible. Hades was bad, but he didn't do anything really evil. The Evil Queen has done some terrible things, though, so I want her to do even worse things. I can't wait!!!

Yes!!
Jafar had an amazing backstory. Probably one of the best.
I will say in general, the villains backstories are superior to the heroes. However, I really like Snow Whites backstory even though a large portion of it ties into Regina's. Those two have a slightly linked story. Honestly I'm surprised that they haven't done more with Emma's. There is very little we still know about Emma's childhood like why her last name is even Swan.

^ Same. I am really wondering where "Swan" came from. Rumple wrote it all over his jail cell before the Dark Curse hit, so either he was seeing the future again and "Swan" came from something in her later life, or Snow and Charming gave "Swan" to her as a middle name or something like the "White" in Snow White. I'm thinking we'll find that out at some point, though.
Season 3B was the best half-season so far. The plot stayed focused on stopping Zelena, and there weren't many sidetracks from it, and each episode had its own theme, which I loved. The finale is AMAZING. Even though it's only about Captain Swan, I just love it so much. It was really well-done, and it was a fantastic way to re-visit the stories that we had known since maybe the end of the first season.
Okay, I'm probably alone on this, but David's long hair >>> I like longer hair, so maybe it's just me, but he is super hot with it. I just finished that episode, the second episode of the fourth season, and it's a nice break from the fast pace there usually is. Snow talking about feeding her son gets me all the time right after she has turned back on the power. (It's somewhat disturbing, too, but at least it's sort of humor.)

Also, didn't Jafar die in OUATIW? Or was he just trapped in the bottle because he became the new genie? I watched it back in January and can't remember what exactly happened. I wonder if they'll explain that. I hope so.
And here's to hoping Regina will get her happy ending soon even though we don't really know what it is anymore. Destroying the Evil Queen maybe? But what's next after that?

Jafar was trapped in the bottle as the new Genie. We aren't even sure if we are going to see current timeline Jafar. I hope we do though.
Now I wanna watch Aladdin. Lol

That's true--I don't know about the current storyline, either. The OUATIW storyline happened after the first curse, though, because Storybrooke existed. Maybe OUATIW is supposed to happen many many many years after OUAT? Because Will in season four never mentions anything about Ana, so maybe it's before he meets her. I don't know. They really need to explain this, though.

Official Description of Season 6
**SPOILERS AHEAD***
Quote:
"As Once Upon a Time returns to ABC for its sixth season, so does its classic villain—the Evil Queen. Creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz invite you to join everyone’s favorite fairytale characters as they face-off against this supercharged enemy.
When Regina split herself in an attempt to eliminate her evil half, she unwittingly released the Evil Queen. Now the Evil Queen is back and ready to leave a trail of destruction in her wake. Meanwhile, Regina is quickly learning that destroying her dark side won’t be that easy, especially when dealing with the consequences of having unleashed the Queen on Storybrooke. Emma learns a life-altering secret that could have serious consequences for her family and loved ones. While the heroes grapple with what Emma is confronting, Henry welcomes the new arrivals from the Land of Untold Stories by pledging to help them complete their tales. But when Snow White, Prince Charming, Regina, Captain Hook and Zelena become entwined in these untold tales, they find themselves haunted by their own unfinished pasts. Meanwhile, after handing Storybrooke over to Mr. Hyde, Mr. Gold continues his quest to wake Belle from her self-induced sleeping curse, in hopes of reuniting with both her and their unborn child.
This season our heroes will be met with many surprises, including Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), a former Savior who may be able to offer Emma just the help she needs, Jafar (Oded Fehr), Princess Jasmine (Karin David), the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner) and Morpheus (Giles Matthey)."

Omg! All of this sounds so good. Even the stuff with Henry. Lol. I can't wait!!
Also, I would like for them to explain Oz and the curse. Cause I just finished rewatching Season 3, and how did Zelena not age at all? Lol. I mean, Oz is a different realm. Robin needed a portal to get there, and Zelena needed the slippers to transport between the realms. If the curse didn't hit all of the realm it was released it, then it certainly didn't hit Oz. So did Zelena get to the EF right before the curse hit? Did something else cause time to stand still in Oz? Does time maybe work differently in Oz? It's a definite plot hole.
