Does that review count towards metacritic?

I just noticed The Family Jewels only received 68/100 on Metacritic.
The world just isn't right. It deserves a 90/100 at least.

I know! I just saw that now, it got alot of positive reviews though.. but alot of mixed ones too which dragged the score down
I think Electra Heart will fare better however we all know how picky reviewers can be (looking at the Lana Del Rey critics) and will probably score Marina down because she worked with Dr Luke, Stargate after criticizing them, instead of judging the music.

I think the NME have usually been somewhat supportive of Marina though that isn't indicative of their individual reviewer's opinions of course (They gave TFJ 9/10 though) hopefully whoever reviews it for them gives it a proper listen and doesn't dismiss it as her """""""selling out""""""

Hey guys. What's the story so far? No new leaks or did something leak?

Precisely this! Lana got slaughtered due to the whole 'is she authentic or not'/Dad's a millionaire, ******** when infact her album was quite good. I can seem them being the same with Marina and the 'selling out' business.

I hope Peter Robinson posts a proper review on Popjustice, judging by several tweets a few days ago he thinks a lot of the album and of Marina's evolution from TFJ.

I saw he tweeted her about how good the album was, I know he wasn't a fan of Primadonna but it's good to see he's onside with the album.
I hope someone posts a proper track by track review soon (aka today) it's the obvious the album won't leak now, so that would be nice to tie us over until release date.

I wrote a song about Marina (lol) and a line goes
"Superstar sell out or try hard diva.
Call her what you want, it's just how you perceive her ."

I really hate how critics get lost in their reviews and ignore the music. If they want to say something about the artist's life, then I don't have a problem with that, as long as the critic remembers it's job is to predominantly review the music. I hope EH gets at least a 70/100, but I won't be too mad if it gets below that.

Yeah he commented on how much depth it has that wasn't quite there before. I think because for people who aren't quite interested it might take a few listens to see it (not that Peter wasn't interested as he's on the whole supported Marina a lot) and people who can't be bothered will write it off because they're not paying attention.

This one is on Amazon, idk if you guys have seen it.
TRACK BY TRACK
'Bubblegum Bitch': Frenetic synth-pop bedlam from 1981 meets 1997. “It's late 90s Britney charm, turned inside out.”
'Primadonna': Smell the waft of poppers across the festival field as a throbbing, fuchsia cloud thunders over your head. “Channelling the archetype of The Star, asking for adoration.”
'Lies': A haunting, melancholic treatise on emotional disappointment. “You only ever touch me in the dark, only if we're drinking, can you see my spark” she sings, exquisitely. "Trying to tell yourself a lover is right for you when you know he is nothing but."
'Homewrecker': Spoken-word ice-queen theatrics befitting the Pet Shop Boys, featuring the line: “Girls and their cars and their gourmet vomit.” "It's about the power of an image: Looking sweet whilst secretly being a total bitch and getting away with it!"
'Starring Role': Ethereal, fragile rumination on living outside reality. “And you don't want to live in reality. That's why you're an artist. You're on the run.”
'The State Of Dreaming': 'Hounds Of Love'-era Kate Bush and a contemplation of the famous Marilyn Monroe quote: “I just want to be wonderful.” "Fantasy protects us"
'Power And Control': Cinematic, Teutonic, Depeche Mode/Killers-sized electro colossus, written and recorded at dawn on ferry to Finland. “About the tactics of power-games in love”
'Living Dead': Pummeling synth-pop paean to regret. “The feeling that you have not lived your life to the full.”
'Teen Idle': "Story of my suicidal cheerleader youth! This song was like my last hurrah of adolescence"
'Valley Of The Dolls': Brooding, elegant, gothic search through loss of identity. “About emptiness, a void that you can't fill with relationships.”
'Hypocrates': Breezy, beautiful, guitar-pop melodies, perhaps Gwen Stefani fronting Crowded House. “Saying 'let me be who I am'.”
'Fear And Loathing': Epic, Trent Reznor-esque, doom-pop reverie on multiple inner personalities. “About seeing the good in people, making a fresh start and cutting yourself free of old ideals”

Marina's songs are mostly growers though, so I can understand why Peter listened to it a few times before he likes it.
