I'm not a professional writer, but I think it should be obvious that the character pushed to be the main one should not be annoying and have some things to relate to. I don't get how someone who found out that her boyfriend was a creepy stalker still went back to dating him is relatable.
Aria is the worst female character on Pretty Little Liars and it's not going to change unless they make her useful, and eating pie with Ezra instead of solving mysteries (at least she started doing something with Radley) just renders her completely useless and vapid. After reading the original scripts for the pilot and Episode Two, it's obvious that Pretty Little Liars was never meant to be a teen show. And it's a shame, because it would've slayed as a show with aimed towards a more mature audience.
