I don't want TF/TFM to be the highlight of her career

LMAO.
So, this thread is becoming a "hate on Adele" thread because her music is actually resonating with the public more than GaGa's this era. This sounds so familiar. I won't shade GaGa because I love her, but let's not with the sour grapes. Boring or not, there are people who actually like the album, and Columbia has done well promoting this album, and word of mouth of done wonders for it.
Adele has done way less promo in the US than Lady Gaga has and she's still bitchslapping her in the sales department. She also isn't the biggest superstar on the planet but is still outselling the biggest superstar on the planet. There's going to be resentment.
To be honest, I do think that Adele will not have the same success with RITD on her future singles.
And?
What does that have to do with her album being the biggest seller domestically and worldwide or her having multiple worldwide hits? Let her enjoy the success she is getting. It's deserved.
Some GaGa fans are coming off as more than just haters because there are other females who are dominating the music scene right now, and in more ways than GaGa is doing right now. It just makes some of you look bad. What's sadder is people were doing the same thing to GaGa two years ago. I digress.
So Adele is the one who told Gaga to record a middling, patronizing album aimed at gays and freaks and promote it looking like a mess
Im not blaming Adele for anything. Im stating the obvious.
They cant be compared musically, it isn't possible.
Adele does ballads. Adele is simple.
Gaga does electronic pop. Gaga is outrageous.
etc...
Adele is selling more albums for a reason. The public likes her music more than anyone else right now. If RITD can get more spins than TEOG on Rhythmic its clear who the more universally loved artist is. Props to Adele though, she deserves it after working so hard.
"Listen to brand new remixes of “The Edge Of Glory” from Cahill, Bare Noize, Foster The People, Funkagenda, Porter Robinson, and Sultan Shepard! Coming soon to iTunes and Amazon mp3…"
I have a horrible suspicion that Justin Bieber might end up blasting by Gaga in album sales at the end of the year.
He would have to sell 1million+ to do that.
I can't at some of you. Gaga's done 'cause she's pulling in 50k a week. Logic.

You're 100% right. Adele's music has universal appeal, whereas Gaga is a pop artist. It's as simple as that.
Gaga and Adele are both incredibly talent, yet Adele is heralded as the more talented one because she's not a popstar. It's a double standard, but it's how it is.

It will be. Mark this post like I did this one from after the VMAs last year:

I agree that 19 is a lot better than 21, but I'm not sure she doesn't deserve the success. I don't think she deserves the critical acclaim that some pretend she has, but the success is the people's choice.
The fact that people overpraise 21 just makes me...
I mean, i understand what you are talking about. I myself bought 21.
But, just to think that an ok album gets overpraise while a fantastic album is forgotten just makes me pressed.

He doesn't have to sell 1 million in a week. I'm sure he can open with 400,000+, maybe even way higher. He's unimaginably more famous than when he released My World 2.0, which debuted with 283,000 and went on to sell over 2 million relatively quickly.
His ******--and I mean ******--remix album has sold almost 700,000 copies this year.
I have to say that I am excited about the Foster The People remix of TEOG since Pumped Up Kicks ***** all over every summer anthem we've had in quite some time

Wait, is he putting out new music? I don't even know what I just said. Are you saying outsell her this year or overall?

It's pop music. Straight men have always been embarrassed to admit to liking pop music. FYI, it's not all about how much she sells, it's about her music and her image and her fanbase, which is stronger than ever.
Meanwhile, the meat dress was just put displayed at the Rock N Roll HoF.

Some of the tracks on the album **** all over PUK.
But I agree the song is brilliant.
Well, not many artists can say that they had a song that has impacted Pop, AC, Hot AC, Rhythmic, Urban, Urban AC, Alternative and whatever else format out there. Adele is not really an overnight sensation. She had decent success with her debut thanks to SNL. She built up her profile from there, winning Grammy Awards. People knew who she was before she had this mega success. It just took one song to resonate with the public for people to really support her.
GaGa being a pop artist has nothing to do with her lack of success compared to someone like Adele. GaGa had no issues scoring a 4 million seller in the U.S. and 12 million seller worldwide - her appeal was really no different then. GaGa is currently the biggest pop star in the world. Fact is, she set the standard high for herself. Not to mention, she has become overexposed. Had she taken some time off, I think the anticipation and hype would have lasted longer.

He has the horny girls on his side.
He will sell a lot until they grow and he grows up. Then he will become irrelevant as BackstreetBoys, Carter brothers and etc.
