Lol Adele is a famous songwriter. She got famous for her story and her ballads. There are plenty of white female artists like her that remain unused and irrelevant. Adele managed to write a great infectious song like RITF that many people identified with. She also was a breath of freshness in the time she came in. Sure she's overrated, but there's no racism involved. Adele was just the chosen one.
Of course Beyonce wouldn't be appreciated the same way when she's skinny + booty shaked her way through her career.

If Thinking Out Loud had smashed earlier in the year I feel like he could have won, but right now Beyonce and Sam's albums have had a better run and are more likely candidates.
No one cares who you knew. It was huge from the get-go. It debuted at #1 with over 350k in the early months of the year and remained a big seller throughout the year.

She wasn't a complete unknown is the point. This is the same girl that won two major categories at the Grammys and had a huge year with 19 in the UK. She had a following.
My point is, that her album was huge out of the gate. Yes, but "Rolling in the Deep" took Adele to major places. That's undeniable.

Yeah Sam is a front-runner, but honestly I think Ed's album is more cohesive than his. Took me a while to get into his songs but Ed's album is better as a whole. His sound is dynamic and more versatile than Sam's. Ugh I hope if Bey doesn't win, Ed wins.
I will be sad if Sam wins...his album just isn't that good - only a few stand-out tracks.
