it's a universal album that appeals to any age from any race...Adele wasn't even promoting the music that much...it was award shows and competitions that got them rolling
and Adele wasn't really a nobody before 21...19 was moderately successful and she won Grammys for it...21 debuted hugely and was big from the get go

but i watched Vh1 Top 20 Countdown and i can tell you that RITD was huge on that countdown way before it took off officially
21 debuted @ #1 for crying out loud with over 300k copies...and this was February
the album was smashing simultaneously around the world from the get go

i'm not saying she should be called the queen of soul
people on here have said countless times that Adele is good...but that even Kelly Clarkson is a better vocalist
i'm just saying i don't think it's quite fair to put Adele in the same category as Elvis and Iggy

sex might sell...but for every Blurred Lines...time will tell you that songs like Happy, RITD, and the like will resonate with more ppl
