there is different levels of fame and media attention. Outside of the Country world, who cares about Jason Aldean?, yeah no one. Kristen Stewart, everybody knows who she is,
yes we leave in a Sexist world, but the thing is, Who sells more magazines?
Remember that **** of Taylor cheating on connor with his cousin, made headlines, but for some reason it wasn't a big deal, I wonder why, the absence of proofs and pictures maybe, for some reason if they have pictures the scandal is bigger, poor kristen.
Honestly, it's pretty simple, non? Let your art do the talking. Take Cate Blanchett & Tilda Swinton for example. Their projects can be highly successful, without ppl bothering their personal life. If you've known how the media plays and you still play the celebrity game, well then, you sort of brought it to yourself. Men or women. But I agRIH that the sexism in mainstream media is disgusting.
Speaking of Lainey's take: Lainey herself admitted that she's pretty fickle. Since Miley's audience is pop audience notorious with how quick they drop faves....
What Taylor should to in order to win that adult crowd, is by releasing & actually promote Her best songs, stick to Her guns, just be Herself.... New fans + the previous stans who have grown with Her. Better than fickle "adult" Pop audience.

It hasn't even 5-hour, has it? At least it breaks record left & right like Her.
People think men are inhumane animals who can't control their sexual urges like every other creature on earth. Goes back to the victim blaming of rape, like a man just can't control themselves if a girl is wearing less than a full bodysuit
A couple of weeks ago, a girl in my school almost got sexually assaulted in the bathroom and my mom said "of course, those girls go to school half-naked"... I put her on blast and she was like "You're right, its not their fault."
A lot of people have that idea in their head and i try to make a point whenever it comes up. Women are sex-less creatures who only have sex to get pregnant or because they have to, to stay in a relationship, we live in a very patriarchal society.
Women are not to blame for getting raped. Men should have the ability to control their sexual instincts. However, I also believe people, regardless of gender, should dress appropriately too. You can look sexy and attractive without going around half-naked, and that goes for both men and women.

It all comes down to knowing your surroundings. If you're going to a party in a "bad" part of town, don't wear a super short min-skirt with a tube top. It's not that if you get raped, it's your fault, but some things are out of your control. Some guys are just nasty pigs.

As a Muslim, I don't support showing too much skin in any situation (regardless of gender),but I get your point. People should dress smartly/not bring it on themselves (not that it's their fault if it happens though).

Was just thinking about this. I'm praying for a discount soon. If she's gonna perform at the ACMs (which is unlikely, but anyway), it would be a smart idea to discount it, even if just for one week.

The problem is, is that men were brought up (and this should not be the case in the modern world) to believe that they should be in control of everything from finances to their emotions and also women. I bet you half the men in prison are there because of spousal or domestic abuse because they grew up believing that they had to be in control. But, in the end, this control is a weakness that landed them in jail.. It really is a shame. It is society's fault. I don't care, I am a male, but I think that women should have more power than they have. It wouldn't bother me. Just because women do not have the same (muscular) strength of men, does not mean that they should not be equal. And a lot of men confuse this. I can see through this because I grew up in an old Italian patriarchal family and I sort of know what the attitudes were, but thank God, I wasn't affected by the male-dominance attitudes in our family. In fact, I think I rebelled against it.

I agree %100 with what you said. The saddest part is that women tend to agree with these patriarchal ideas.
Sexism is also the base of homophobia, that anything that seems more female oriented is weak or wrong. When my mom was together with my dad, I feel like she was more oppressed when it came to wearing tight dresses, hanging out with her friends, and even dancing.
My mom today is more liberated and independent and she even tells me that she seems more happy. Im a male so when i say tell people my views, my guy friends think im just spouting nonsense which is infuriating.
