I feel like Paul Ryan will wait until 2024 to run for president so he isn't fighting the uphill battle of going up against an incumbent. I think Rubio or Cruz will get the nomination in 2020

Anyways, I would love for Cruz to get the 2020 nod, but I don't know how he would. The GOP establishment sort of hates him now with his RNC non-endorsement mess, the Trumpettes know him as Lying Ted, and Heidi can barely make a speech about him without hiding the death inside her eyes.

But if he did win, it'd make 2020 a LOT easier for Hillary.

Incumbents always has a higher chance of winning. Nixon, Reagan, Bill, Bush, Obama.

The outliers in that period have been Ford (he was never actually elected so the electorate didn't even like him) Carter and Bush. Carter was just unlucky and a bad president. Bush's only accomplish was ending the Gulf War. He completely forget about domestic issues and the economy. We all know the Clintons won't have that problem. So yeah I say if she focuses her attention on the economy she'll get reelected.

I haven't seen the email, but the Times article said that the contenders were separated into "food groups" depending on who ended up being the GOP nominee / VP pick.

I guess they would've chosen a Hispanic / Latino VP if Rubio or Cruz was the opponent, or maybe gone with Booker if they needed an advantage with black voters.
