Also RCA don't do promo on single release weeks. The video is promo this week. If you look back at Avril's comeback in 2011 with 'What The Hell' after a 4 year break. The song released in January 2011 and peaked at #11 in March 2011. All promo was end of February/Start of March, almost 7/8 weeks after the single premiere. RCA will know when to do promo. When it starts to take off on radio getting them +1 million updates (if this song ever does), then RCA will see that it's worth investing money into the song. Artists don't just get a lot of promo, RCA have to see if it's worth investing in the song first.
Anyway, the song is like any other lead single release from a mainstream artist at the moment, video treatment, some buzz promo (planes), and single release on iTunes with mini banner. Just needs to be sent to Pop radio now. Then promo will come if the song stabilizes on iTunes or takes off on radio. We'll see. The song is kind of bland, but I really like it. It sounds like an easy listen song the radio would play tbh.
