I still can't believe I Will Be was released in the US instead of Run, she really did have terrible labels and management.
As for Echo flopping, I blame Clive Davis he has publicly spoken about his dislike of Leona being involved in the writing process and blames that for the flop, to me that sounds sort of similar to what happened with Kelly. He pulled the second single from radio and then the album was abandoned.
Leona is a middling talent. They were trying to market her so hard as a Whitney/Mariah/Celine, all whom had identities of their own outside of their voices. Leona was just plain old boring, like most singing competition stars. I always thought she was the weakest of the 2006-2009 batch of UK pop stars that broke through America.
Leona is actually hilarious. For whatever reason, she just never shows it in her interviews. She did an interview for the Christmas album last year and she was like a completely different person in it. I don't know where it is though.
I hope this new label makes something of Leona. Her Ave Maria from her Christmas album was something special tbh. Saint, acclaimed philanthropist, vocal slayer.

All she needs is a great come back song and maybe a feature with someone to get her name back out there.
Her new management is incredible though and scored her huge promo last year for the Christmas album and with a new, capable label, I have hope. Plus she's going back to her AC roots.
"Avatar" is one of the most overrated films in history. It had a fantastic marketing campaign. But now that everyone who saw it has seen how awful and clichéd the film is, it will translate into a STEEP drop off in attendance for the next three "Avatar Trilogy" installments. No one cares about "Avatar." On a similar note, no one cares about Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy."
