The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Rating: 9.8/10 ~ 98% Brief review: As if the original wasn't perfect enough, this blockbuster sequel has more intensity, emotion, comedy and extends all the elements that the first had. Even though I didn't read the novel, it apparently was very true to its source. This book-to-film adaptation leaves you wanting more, even after its nearly 2:30 duration - which is something that is somewhat rare to find. The countdown to Mockingjay: Part I begins.
The Innkeepers - I liked how the ending got you thinking, but overall it was quite boring.
Escape From Tomorrow - The stories were weird and all over the place. It was as if the writers had multiple ideas and wanted to jam them all into one movie. It all came together quite well at the end, but a little more time to expand on some of the stuff might have been nice but I understand what they were trying to do with making it so fast paced. The cinematography was the best part. It was so interesting and captivating. I'd watch it again.
I watched Maria Full of Grace (6.5/10), The Wolverine (5.5/10), Daredevil: The Director's Cut (7.5/10), and A Fistful of Dollars (8.5/10) in the last two nights.
The Wolverine. I liked the storyline a lot actually, some things happened later on in the movie that I personally didn't expect to happen in an X-Men film.
Catching Fire-The best movie this year
The Croods-Very cute movie
Vampire Sucks-I can't handle the actress trying to imitate Kristen Stewart
Winter's Bone-This is a sad movie. J Law was so flawless
I recently finished To the Wonder... Not really sure what to make of it. It was really pretty, but I'm not sure what the point was...
I also saw Nebraska. I'd recommend it if you like quirky humor/dramadies, it's really funny. It'll end up being one of the dark horses come awards time.
