There are. Grace Jones for example. You don't even need to be "crazy" to be a fashion icon. Just look at Iman.
The thing with Gaga is that she uses the best of the best in the fashion industry. I'm not sure if there is enough room for her creative input in that.

Ask anyone that works with her... designers, stylist, makeup artists, director, photographers. They always say the same: It's a collaboration and she brings voluminous ideas to the table. Next.

That is a ridiculous comparison. Britney has IMPACTED music and that is very hard to argue. Gaga on the other hand, many fashion people can see through her.
And if you want to go there, Terry Richardson has said working with Britney was the biggest moment of his career, and he has worked with FASHION ICON Gaga previous times before, and just recently for Purple Magazine. Just so you know.

I would find it semi-disappointing if Dr. Dre & Eminem open the Grammy's with that LTWYL carbon-copy INAD, & GaGa has to perform after them

Britney has impacted music no doubt, how has she impacted fashion? she's not exactly a fashion icon these days.

Even if were true that Gaga has zero input in her fashion (which, lol), being an icon is primarily about recognizable image, which in and of itself doesn't require that you composed that image or had any input in to it whatsoever. Just ask Britney.

Of course it's not ridiculous, you're just biased. I can be too: if anything, Lady Gaga is much more adventurous in her style and sound than Britney. No offense but this is hard to argue with: at age 29, Britney is releasing music that sounds just like what she was releasing as a teenager.
But this is verging on SYG territory so best to leave it at that.

Why are you all get so pressed when I bring this up?
I say a genuinely nice comment and follow it up with my opinion and you all get so crazy. If it weren't so true you wouldn't get so angry about it.
She is NOT an icon? Why? She's only been in the industry for 2-3 years... and only one Vogue cover at that. Look at designers like Rodarte, who are not even icons yet despite being praised each fashion season. Gaga doesn't even move fashion to the masses the way SJP can.
But why do I even bother.

Exactly. In an industry where people love to take credit for their own work/ideas, the people she works with are so quick to give her a ton of credit for what she contributes to the creative process.

There is truth to what your trying to say, but Gaga obviously brings ideas to the table. Looking at this magazine cover, the way her makeup and hair is done does look like she could be a model ready to walkout on the runway. And huge designers have praised her also, McQueen being one of those and Armani even designed outfits to her liking

But that wasn't your initial argument. You were trying to claim that because she's wearing the clothes that designers create she can't be an icon, which is silly for the reason I pointed out.
