I have no doubt she can make a full physical recovery but mentally it's unknown. We'll have to see how it affects her on court

Petra won't be the same player. It's either she gets traumatized and scared and her career is over, or she realizes how she almost lost tennis and she becomes a mental giant. The way she seems to be reacting (so far) it looks like it'll give her a motivation boost !

Being injured and barely playing is highly related to her age and shes not exactly getting younger.

SlamS yeah 2-3 years. Wimbledon ? She can be a contestant for a longer time imo.

Tbh as long as she serves as she has been post embolism she'll never lose at Wimbledon again. The grass really suits her serve and she's so comfortable on it as far as movement goes. Probably the 2nd best grass court player of the open era behind Navratilova (it's arguable that she's better than Venus/Graf). I can see her being a factor there until 2020 if she decides to play that long. As for the rest of the slams it's iffy. If she stays healthy she has a good 4 years of slam winning tennis. More years like this and she has 2 at best. Either way that's a minimum of 8 slams she can realistically win and she only needs 3 for the record. Definitely doable

As for Petra I do hope she comes out of this stronger than ever. I agree with FBF that it seems to me she'll use this as a springboard to help her finally find the consistency she deserves

What I've learned is...never doubt Serena
I see her playing at least until Tokyo 2020 and snatching 5+ GS titles

She might be getting old and injured..but she still looks superb on the court
